It’s June in San Diego, and while many people cry June Gloom, the truth is we have it good here. So pony up and make it one of these events that makes San Diego rad!
June 9th – Chef Throwdown – The Hotel del Coronado’s expansive Windsor Lawn will provide the setting for this unforgettable gourmet gathering. 30 of the best chefs from San Diego and Baja will present signature hors d’oeuvres or desserts at individual stations. Dishes will also be paired with local wineries and breweries and complemented by live entertainment. The event, which benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will feature judges such as Brian Malarkey, Claudia Sandoval, Jack Ford, Michele Parente, Sam The Cooking Guy, Tommy Gomes, Troy Johnson, Michelle Lerach, Javier Plascencia. Tickets are $150.
June 11th – Tacos, Tequila & Beer Festival – Starting at 2pm, 15 local breweries will be serving complimentary samples of their iconic beers including some summer specialities and seasonals The afternoon will also have 12 of the best restaurants serving complimentary signature tacos. The event will also feature a Tequila area with complimentary pours from our featured Tequila brands. June 11th – Liberty Station Summer Block Party – Celebrate Summer at Liberty Station’s Summer Block Party from 6-9pm. Get your fam and friends and head on down to kick off the season of good times and carefree days with all-ages activities, sweet refreshments and complimentary bites from some of Liberty Station’s newly opened eateries and neighborhood favorites. Enjoy live entertainment, unique art demos from our local galleries, a pop-up yoga class by Yoga Six, kid-friendly activities, a superhero movie night with Comickaze and much more. This event is FREE.
June 16th – San Diego Magazine’s Best Restaurants Party – Celebrate the Best Restaurants issue with an evening of indulgent bites, craft cocktails and chef encounters at Pirch at Westfield UTC. In addition to food sampling, the Cocktail Shake-Off will put spirits at center stage. Guests will taste different creations mixed by winning mixologists and vote for their favorite. June 23rd – Del Mar Summer Solstice – Experience delectable culinary creations from Del Mar’s highly regarded restaurants. Sip on selections of some of California’s best wine, beer, cider, mead and distilled spirits. Dance along to live music by local band Second Cousins. With amazing front-row sunset views, balmy ocean breezes and live music this is the way Del Mar celebrates the arrival of summer! Tickets are $85.
June 25th & 26th – 2016 San Diego Night Market – Taking place in the Convoy District – an emerging cultural, dining, and innovative economic hub – the San Diego Night Market returns for its third tasty showcase of unique, mouthwatering food, one-of-a-kind outdoor retail shopping, and of-course the most diverse, modern cultural and contemporary performances in the city! This open-air, urban experience is inspired by the lively night markets found in large cities throughout robust Asia. Centralized within the event will be a performance stage featuring cultural and modern dances, bands, live DJs, and unique entertainment you won’t want to miss! Tickets are $2 while food, merchandise and drink are a la carte.
June 26th – Farmers, Friends, and Fisherman VII – A Seasonal Farm-to-Table Dinner featuring local farmers, ranchers and fisherman. Play in the garden and savor the summer harvest! Join us The Red Door for their seventh in a series of seasonal dinners, but the first ever held at their own Red Door Family Garden. The dinner will feature their favorite farmers, ranchers, fisherman and winemakers and their wonderful products. And this time, enjoy the splendor of all that is growing. A portion of the proceeds to benefit Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center and The Berry Good Food Foundation. Tickets are $150.
