A few weeks ago, Chef’s Roll presented the invite only Grand Opening party for a unique retail spot in San Diego, called The General Store. The soiree, attended by chefs, writers, photographers and industry people, welcomed the arrival of a shop that focuses on everyone from the up and coming chef to the seasoned professional!
Both Chef’s Roll & The General Store pulled out all the stops for the festivities bringing in Duck Foot Brewery and Robert Hall wines for lively libations complimented by the Carnitas Snack Shack food truck’s tacos & burgers! (Thank you Chef Hanis Cavin & Colin Murray!)
The opening also featured celebrity chef Graham Elliot who was on hand signing copies of his latest cookbook as well as posing for the occasional selfie 😉
Familiar faces abound as I made my way around the store which features unique chef apparel as well as a collection of jackets, shirts, and streetwear!
I might not be a chef, but there were several items that caught my eye!
On hand were Marie Daniels – Cur8eur [online], Tommy Gomes – Catalina Offshore, Chef’s Felipe Raul Torres, Miguel Valdez – The Red Door Restaurant, Alex Emery – Hilton Bayfront, Flor Franco – Finca La Carrodilla, Chef Kurt P. Metzger – Kitchen 4140, and Mario Medina – Bernini’s Bistro, and my sister Yolanda S. Walther-Meade to name a few…
Rounding out the evening, Chef’s Roll had photographer Josue Castro taking his signature chef portraits (of course my sister and I jumped in 😉 )!
as well as Rob Forsythe who captures some amazing live shots! Check out their pics, and make sure you follow them!!
Towards the end of the night, there were giveaways which included a leather knife roll, kitchen tools and other accessories from brands like Gunter Wilhelm Cutlery & Cookware, Jende and 5 Loaves 2 Fish…
On to the next one!
